Hallways lined with shinning terrazzo floors, dark red oak woodwork, and rich plaster walls lead students to their classrooms at Amy Biehl Charter High School. Due to a unique agreement between the school and the General Services Administration, renovation and restoration of the former U.S. Post Office and Federal Courthouse (ca. 1908) was completed in January 2006.

Wall partitions added in the 1970’s were recently removed to restore public lobbies, the octagon shaped courtroom, and the post office workroom. Transforming the 50,000 square foot downtown building into a school designed to house two hundred students required ongoing coordination with local, State, and Federal officials, as well as seismic enhancements and ADA improvements.

Other significant historic preservation projects include the Bataan, Lamy, and Lew Wallace buildings, as well as Carlos Gilbert Elementary School, both located in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
