Albuquerque Public Schools hired The Design Group to develop an updated, phased master plan including the design of major Phase I improvements. Out of date staff and teacher support spaces were completely remodeled and a new administration wing was added. Serious vehicular circulation problems within the main parking lot were eliminated by reorganizing the entry to the school.

Work included new, state of the art data and security systems. Internal spaces previously without windows or daylighting were opened to private courtyards and enhanced with new daylighting features. The design also included a new, colorful facelift to the old and dour entry. Brightly colored glazed block and updated landscaping greets students and visitors at the new main entrance.
