The Design Group designed the Southwest Gastroenterology Associates building to consolidate all of their Albuquerque-based practices within a single building. The $5.2 million, 23,436 square foot facility houses both a licensed Ambulatory Surgery Center and physician clinic.

The Ambulatory Surgery Center contains four Endoscopy Procedure Rooms; a twelve-bay Holding/Recovery area; and a three-bay, step-down recovery area. The clinic contains twenty-two exam rooms clustered around two exam pod areas, with associated physician offices. The front-of-house area contains two separate exam and procedure waiting areas served by a single building entrance, while the back-of-house area holds administrative, accounting, medical records and meeting areas.

The Design Group collaborated with the Owner’s architectural consultant Marrasco and Associates and interior design consultant RMK to create a state-of-the-art, attractive facility that is both technically and aesthetically at the forefront of current Gastroenterological practice.
