Terraced on a steep slope, adjacent to a residential neighborhood, the Southwest Medical Office Building faces the Sandia Mountains and overlooks the Rio Grande River Valley. Cubist building volumes are designed to respond to powerful vistas. Interior spaces feature Venetian plaster and large windows to frame views. Sloped skylights bring daylight to the interior spaces.

The simple building plan creates clarity of circulation, as well as program and flow efficiency. A high wall divides the 16,000 square foot building into public and clinical spaces. Color is used as a way-finding tool to guide patients through exam and procedure room pods. The Master Plan anticipates future expansion by planning for additional pods.
