In the spring of 2007, the Design Group was retained by SunCal Companies – New Mexico Division to assist them in the continued planning of their land holdings on the west side of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. SunCal had recently purchased the Atrisco Land Grant property from the Westland Development Company and was looking to continue development of the previously prepared Westland Master Plan.

Projects with which the Design Group has assisted include:

Watershed & Inspiration - a 500-acre residential development adjacent to the Petroglyph National Monument

Town Center Relocation - a repositioning of the major urban component of the Westland Master Plan to a more strategically appropriate location within the Master Plan area.

Solar Power Generation Facility - a site development plan to obtain approval to develop a 250-acre site in Bernalillo County for construction of a facility capable of delivering 19.9 megawatts of solar-generated electricity to the area’s power grid.
