The Hartman + Majewski Design Group was given the opportunity to design the Lovington Wellness Center. In an effort to combat poor health statistics, as well as provide a more holistic approach to total body wellness, Nor-Lea Hospital District teamed with Lovington Municipal Schools and the City of Lovington to create a new 40,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center. The vision for the project was to inspire and encourage community residents to be active and promote a healthier lifestyle all while having fun! Opening its doors in 2018, the $19,000,000 project boasts a two-story climbing wall, a competition size swimming pool with three retractable diving boards, a therapy pool, a weight room, and a jogging track that laps the gym, climbing wall, and weight training area on the second floor. Additionally, the space features an NBA regulation gym which is utilized for various sports that include pickleball, basketball, volleyball, and badminton. The overall project success is evidenced by the fact that the Center exceeded their membership goal in less than one year. Plans are in the works for an additional phase which will include the installation of soccer pitches.
